My name is Cara. I am a child of Jesus, a wife, a mom, a friend, a daughter, a niece, a writer, and a reader. And I love to talk about the Bible.
Why I Keep Coming Back to the Word
I keep coming back to the Word of God because this is where I found truth. It is the only source of hope I know that does not ever change. It can handle the praise. It can handle the fire.
I want people to know that the Bible is approachable. We can take our time. We can read and study and discover. I want you to know the joy of being in the Word and pursue it like a miner looking for gold.
Walking With God Through Suffering
Life has taught me that God’s Word is not just something to study when things are going well. In the middle of a migraine or pain in my body, here is what I know to be true: God’s voice and care is present. There is no time ever that I am alone. Ever.
I want to write about loving God and loving people, and about what it looks like to walk with God in the midst of pain. I want this to be a place where we can learn, be honest about hard things, and keep our eyes on Jesus.
Why I Write
I spend a lot of time in the Word, and I want what I’m learning to reach beyond me. So I write what I am learning and invite you to come along for the ride.
My hope is that when you leave Six Brown Bears, you are encouraged to keep going, to keep digging into the Word for yourself, and above all, to keep your eyes on Jesus.
And someday, I hope my children and the generations that come after them can find these words and know what I stood for and what I loved: the Word of God, God the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit; my family, my church, and my people.
Welcome. I am so glad you are here.
