When my mind finds a truth worth hearing over and over again, I guess i start reading the Bible looking for it. I just can’t get over how wonderful is the truth that Jesus is near. The Holy Spirit is with us. So, as I am meandering around the word, I’m listening for this.
This morning in my reading of the Gospels, my ears perked at the end of the book of Mark.
“So then, when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord was working with them and confirming the word by the signs that followed.]”

Thank you, Lord, for this testimony. They did the work which you called. They went out and preached and here I sit nearly 6200 miles away, knowing the Lord because of this work. When i work on the things that are close to my Savior’s heart, I can be confident He works with me.
I found more examples of this truth.
“The Lord is [unwaveringly] righteous in all His ways And gracious and kind in all His works. The Lord is near to all who call on Him, To all who call on Him in truth (without guile). He will fulfill the desire of those who fear and worship Him [with awe-inspired reverence and obedience]; He also will hear their cry and will save them.”
Psalms 145:17-19 AMP

Underlying all of this truth is this word for me today. Trust Him. Trust His ways. I call upon you, Lord. I know you hear me. I know you save me.
“In that day it will be said to Jerusalem: “Do not be afraid, O Zion; Do not let your hands fall limp. The Lord your God is in your midst, A Warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with joy; He will be quiet in His love [making no mention of your past sins], He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.”

Grateful, Lord. I am grateful that you are here. you do save. You do sing over us. Lord, grant us your joy. Quiet us with your love. Quiet love. And then there are shouts of joy! Makes me smile. Grateful for this truth.
“Therefore, believers, since we have confidence and full freedom to enter the Holy Place [the place where God dwells] by [means of] the blood of Jesus, by this new and living way which He initiated and opened for us through the veil [as in the Holy of Holies], that is, through His flesh, and since we have a great and wonderful Priest [Who rules] over the house of God, let us approach [God] with a true and sincere heart in unqualified assurance of faith, having had our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us seize and hold tightly the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is reliable and trustworthy and faithful [to His word];”

I can be confident today. I am free, by the blood of Jesus. His body broken for us. He is our high priest and we can approach God with assurance. I approach with a humble heart. I approach knowing that I am clean because of the blood of Christ. I have hope! Thank you, Jesus. You are faithful. You are reliable. And here it is..trustworthy. So I hold tightly to you, Lord. Hold tightly.
