Recently, my daughter and I watched a 1D concert on YouTube, a perfect environment for me to observe. I’ve seen videos of fans of the Beatles, Monkeys and Elvis and quite honestly, the crying, screaming and fainting hasn’t changed much. Watching concerts of a favorite band, truly, is a full body experience.

I want to know him more than understand anything else. I want to know his word more. Spend our time keeping, contemplating, longing, delighting in his word. Take some time today and look at these verses. No matter what is against you today, behold his word for you today.

In all honesty, a deer walking requires your patience and imagination to find the bridge to Tychicus, but bear with me. The animals, over time, have found humans to be worthy of their trust. Moreover, they have found us to be not a threat. So, rather than bolt at the first sign, they walk side…

Friends, the winter of the church is upon us. We have the word of God, we have the teaching of the church, we have the fellowship of Christians, and it has become a warm blanket of comfort. We have become complicit in our comfort.

I am, by nature, a thinker. Ask my husband. Always thinking, always processing, always have something I’m writing. I suppose that is why when my head hits the pillow, on most nights, lately, I drop off to sleep. My brain, seriously, communicates with the rest of the body and says, “I don’t know about the…

When was the last time you laughed? Not just a chuckle. Really laughed. The gray skies of Illinois combined with the pandemic and looming economic crisis and loneliness leave us with little reason to laugh. Yet, the science is out there

I’m sitting here, once again, and this post will look a little different. Let’s read Psalm 139 together. It was one of my Grandma Lovell’s favorite (I think) and today, I’m nostalgic and also wishing for a piece of comfort and reminder of hope. I’m typing it out. No copying and pasting.

let’s review. All who dwell in the shelter. Make sure you have made the Lord your shelter. Make sure you have not put your trust in any man made item. You may say I haven’t. Where do you first go when the storms hit? Run to him first. He is your first comfort. He is…

I opened my journal today and it flopped to a previous page and I knew what I was writing about today. Birds and lilies. I know I have before. I think Jesus was pretty brilliant when he did this. He gave us pictures to remind us. I’m getting ahead of myself. I’m referring to Matthew…

I’m staring at my puppy today, who is trying to find a comfortable position on my couch. It’s a difficult job, but she’s up to the challenge today, we hope. As she shifts, moves, nudges, she turns to look at me, to make sure I’m still here and then drifts back off to puppy dreamland.
