A celebration of a storyteller, a husband, a father, and a grandfather.
My dad, Jeff Lovell, was a man of many interests and talents. He loved literature, theater, movies, and the power of a good story. He shared those loves generously with his family, and through his writing, he shared his imagination with readers.
But to me, he was simply Dad.
He was the man who wrote me encouraging letters while I was away at college, who called me his “shining star,” and who believed in me when I struggled to believe in myself.
He was the grandfather who made countless trips to help with his grandchildren, the father who loved gathering everyone around the table, and the husband who loved my mom.
One of my favorite memories is of Dad sitting in our busy kitchen, surrounded by family. Looking around at everyone, he said, “I always wanted to be part of a family like this, and it just hit me, I am.”
That was my dad. He treasured his family, and he loved being part of our lives.
Although we miss him dearly, his stories remain.
This little bookstore is one way to celebrate his creativity and share the books he wrote, including those he created with my mom, Jacqi.
